The Italian football league will resume on the 20th June this year. This was announced by the Italian minister of youth and sports after a meeting with the stakeholders today. The return of the semi-final match of the Coppa Italia’ – the Italian knockout is slated on the 13th and 14th of June with the final scheduled 17th of the same month.
Italy suspended the football league along with other public gatherings three months ago in response to the then raging coronavirus pandemic. Since then the country has gone from leading Europe in both confirmed cases and deaths to now recording some of the lowest numbers in both categories on the continent. Today the country recorded 73 new deaths during the last 24 hours with 593 new cases and 3,503 recovered.
