A second batch of stranded Ghanaians will be evacuated from New York on Wednesday July 29th.
The Ghana Permanent Mission to the United Nations and Consulate General has put out information regarding the evacaution in an official evacuation instructions.
The stranded Ghanaians are expected to fly back home via Ethiopian Airlines, the Carrier, scheduled to depart the Liberty International Airport at 5:25 pm with reporting time set at 12:00pm.
“Face masks are required to board as well as pre-check-in health screening, ” according to the instructions.
Potential evacuees are expected to register with the Consulate to be provided with a promotion code with which “they can purchase a ticket directy from the Airline”.
The instructions also stated there will be a 14-day mandatory quarantine upon arrival at the traveler’s own expense. They also added the list of hotels where they will be qurrantined, with the hotel rates.
All information requested are required to be sent to the Consulate email address by 6pm on Monday, July 26th.
