“Social media is a good tool but the usage has harmed rather than helped”, says ‘The Bad’. In current times, social media has created the platform for various vices such as cyberbullying, unnecessary competition, fraud, intense peer pressure, the easy availability of inappropriate content to minors. All these vices, Rabiatu Abdallah says, have led to more harm than good.
She suggested there should be some form of regulations that would not only curb the highly demoralizing comments but also the seemly less harmful but hateful comments on social media.
Georgette Kyei who played “The Good” buttress the point on the wrong usage of social media. Sadly, she did note that social media cannot be entirely regulated because it engulfs the world. However, a person can regulate what he or she watches or pays attention to on social media. “The Good”, said ‘social media is all about priority.’
“The Good” indicated that social media has come a long way to serve as a platform of information on world news and pandemics. It is not entirely bad she says.
