Almonor further said “about 20” houses in the area were also set ablaze by the explosion, adding “We can’t yet give details on the number of victims inside the houses.”
The deputy city Mayor’s narration observed that truck driver might have lost control as it swerved to avoid a crash with a motorcycle taxi.
The fuel spilled on the road and pedestrians rushed to collect the fuel, he further narrated.

Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry in a tweet said “Three days of national mourning will be decreed throughout the land, in memory of the victims of this tragedy which has devastated the whole Haitian nation.”
