THIS JUST IN – Good news coming out of the Damar Hamlin medical team from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center indicates that he is making a “remarkable recovery.”
The Buffalo Bills Safety is now able to communicate with head nods and his own hand-writing with which he first asked “did we win”, referring to the game in which he nearly lost his life after making a routine tackle, and was suspended and later postponed due to his injury.
The medical team reports that the remarkable recovery includes “sign of good neurological recovery” but additional test would still be required in his care.
The team praised the Buffalo Bills on-field medical team for its prompt recognition of the severity of Hamlin’s condition, which was critical in saving his life. “It’s fair to say a few extra minutes would have resulted in a difference in outcome.
Hamlin’s vitals are beginning to heal remarkably due to his physical conditioning according to the medical team because patients of this type of cardiac arrest have varied rates of recovery depending on their overall fitness.
The medical team point to substantial progress as Hamlin is beginning to awaken but still warns that he remains critically ill.
The team thanked the entire community for the overwhelming support especially from the “amazing Hamlin family and the buffalo Bills organization.”
