As NPP flagbearer hopeful Ken Ohene Agyapong touts his long history of financing the New Patriotic Party and other philanthropic deeds, detractors have always countered with accusations of “numerous contracts” he has been given by NPP governments.
But in an interview on Kessben Radio and TV yesterday, the Assin Central MP made some startling revelations about misconceptions of the so-called “numerous contracts” he has allegedly received from the government.
“When other people obtain contracts and they cannot execute them, because I have the means and the contacts, they bring them to me and I execute the contracts for them,” Agyapong revealed.
“Even after I have executed those contracts for others, they still float a list around claiming that they have given all the contracts to Ken Agyapong,” he continued.
“If they doubt me, I will reveal the list of all the people who have been beneficiaries of my help in that regard,” Agyapong further warned. A souce close to the Assin MP, who spoke to DNT on condition of anonymity, estimates that the contracts Agyapong executes for others account for almost 60% of all the contracts that his company is involved in.
The Assin Central MP further revealed that since 2021, he has not received a single contract from the government, a fact that shocked President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo when he told him.
Agyapong further stated that they even canceled the very last contract he received from the Minister of Energy with the claim that the Commencement had expired. At the time of the cancellation, he had already ordered the streetlights, some of which he had to donate to Mampongten and Race Course.
On a separate occasion, Hon Ken Ohene Agyapong has stated the amount he lost on that contract to be to the tune of $7million.
